The Inspirations Inc. family of “concept mapping” software products are intended for and can benefit students within a broad range of abilities and age levels. This Software is of specific interest to me as a tool for helping high functioning and gifted students with ADHD and or Learning disabilities successfully organize complex ideas and thoughts into a final tangible product. Inspirations software not only makes graphic organizers accessible, it actually transforms them easily into simple outlines in a text format. The process of using any one of these programs (Inspiration, Inspiredata, and Kispiration) typically starts with a brainstorming process that automatically takes ideas as they are typed as words and phrases and develops them into a graphic organizer. As the video demonstrates below, every time the student types something and hits enter, a new balloon or concept is created. With one easy click, the resulting visual map (graphic organizer) can be transformed into a written outline form that is actually usable. With the "Rapidfire" feature, it becomes possible for fast thinking students to get their thoughts mapped out quickly before they are lost.
